The story of Maze Fathom begins with Wilson Chow, a man of diverse talents and passions—a former head of business development, journalist, travel book writer, and photographer. Yet, above all, Wilson nurtured a dream: to create a backpack brand that seamlessly blended functionality and design.
This dream emerged during one of the most challenging periods of his life. At the age of 21, Wilson was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, a chronic autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the body’s tissues. The disease caused severe inflammation in his spine and joints, leaving him in constant pain. At one point, he could barely walk or move his neck.
Despite these hardships, Wilson refused to let his condition define him. Instead, it became the driving force behind his determination to develop lightweight, functional gear that could empower people on their own journeys, no matter the challenges they faced.
In late 2024, Wilson turned his dream into reality. Leaving behind his previous career, he dedicated himself fully to building Maze Fathom—a brand that stands for resilience, exploration, and the pursuit of purpose.
